Wish I'd read the article before buying the book...Reader comment on item: Gideon's Spies Submitted by I. Starr (Canada), Nov 26, 2007 at 16:51 Unfortunately the book was recommended to me as an unbiased account of the Mossad. What the book delivered was a litany of unstabstantiated complaints against Israel, the Mossad and the Israeli government. Someone not conversant on the history and the politics of the Middle East would take this very reasonable-sounding book as fact. As I read on, having already added to Mr. Thomas' coffers, I took more and more offense at this book: from incorrect dates and other simple facts (such as referring to hepatitis as a chronic kidney disease) to allegations that the Mossad was responsible for Princes Diane and Dodi's death as well as a raft of other accusations and character assasinations. What could have been an interesting book was hijacked for Mr. Thomas to insidiously promote anti-Israel sentiment. If the Mossad really had its finger in every pie as Mr. Thomas asserts, I doubt there would be an need for the Annapolis Conference.
