Islam is a practical religion

Dear Daniel Redmond,

There are more than 1.15 billion muslims in the world. They all are not practicing muslims. Then there are muslims who belong to poor countries where they hardly get education. Involvement of such non- practicing and uneducated muslims in crimes and terrorism can not be atributed to Islam. There are billions of Christains in the world but the practicing Christains are almost negligible.

Drinking,gambling,prositution and eating pork is not allowed in Christanity. But majority of Christains drink,gamble and go to prostitutes. They have children without geting to wedlock. On these pretexts if I say these practices are allowed in Christanity then it would be devilish on my part. All muslim scholars propagate that suicidal bombing and terrorism of any kind is not at all allowed in Isalm. If you read the history of suicide bombers, they were not the muslims but Christains and Jews who did it. IRA had been doing bomb blasts. They are Catholics(if I am not wrong).

Should I say that were Catholic bombers--- no,they were doing it for freedom, which again was wrong since for what ever porpose one can not kill innocent people. Those who resort to suicidal bombing are misgiuded muslims. Recently a muslim cleric has been killed in Pakistan because he was speaking a lot against the suicidle bombers. He said suicidal bombers will go straight to hell. I hope I am able to make it clear to you that suicidal bombing is not allowed in Isalm.

STONING OF WOMEN TO DEATH: You have said that in Isalm women involved in petty crime like prostitution are stoned to death. Let me explain you the actual thing. In a muslim counrty where sharia is imposed and crimes are dealt as per Isalm--- in such a society if a married woman and man commit adultery and there are 4 eye witness to this effect-- then those woman and man will be stonned to death. Please not there should be 4 eye witness, this crime is very very difficult to prove.

If a man enters his house and sees that her wife is going sex with a man, he is only the eye witness. In this case the man will be asked to say it three times in the that if I am liing about my wife then God's curs be on me, if his wife does not accept then she will say three times that if I was doing that act ,God's curs be on me. Case is not proved ,it is up to the man to divorce her or keep her. Who knows this lady prays to God and God may excuse her. If she does not hell fire will be there for her in the day after.

Yes Islam believes in capital punishments to deal with crimes which are harmful for the society. Why shouldn't a woman cheating his husban be given this punishment. If a wife is doing sex with an other man and gets pregnant , how awful is this. What happens when one day her husband will come to know that for the child he has been doing so much is the result of illegitimate relations of his wife.

Moreover how sad it will be for that child to learn that he or she is illegitimate. Islam protects right of every one. Cheating and casual sex are both hamful for the society, therefore, to have total control over them is done through punishments. It is very practical, by inforcing tough punishments crimes are reduced to negligible.

However, if unmarried boy and girl are involved in adultery,they will not be stoned to death but will be flogged.

PROSTITUTION: It is not allowed in Islam. There are lot of evils of prostitution. I know it is not a crime in your society. Very lethal viruses are spread by postitutes. Youth is spoiled. These ladies have no morality. Husbands can easily cheat their wives when prstitutes are available in the market. Nobody wants to be son or daughter of a prostitute.

Since they remain mentally disturbed, they easily resort to taking drugs. As a whole they are curse to every society. I know in Iran and perhaps in Afghanistan as well some prostitutes have been killed. This should not have been done because they were prostitutes before sharia was imposed in those countries. Capital punishments can only be given in a country where sharia is imposed in toto.

In sharia looking after women is the reponsibilty of husbands, fathers and brothers. In absence of all the three, Isalmic state is responsible to look after the helpless women. If state is not looking after a lady and per force she becomes a prostitute to get rid of her hunger, she can not be given capital punishment. Islam believes in total justice.

FLOGGING TO VICTIM OF RAPE---- TOTALLY WRONG: You said in Isalm victim of rape is flogged. This is your absolute misconception. The religion which says Heaven lies under the feet of your mother. All human beings are equal. God will not excuse any sin which is committe against some one. Only that person will have the right to excuse you-- not God. God has taken away this right from himself. How can such a decent religion allow flogging the victim of rape. She is victim and yet you flog her. Please note any injustice which a common man can think of can not be included in Isalm since Isalm is a practical religion.

CHOPPING OF HAND FOR THEFT: Yes as per Isalm one hand is chopped if one steals. If he steals next time his opposite leg is cut. Please be advised that dont read Isalmic laws in isolation. In an Islamic society where sharia is imposed, every one gives 2.5% of his/her saving in charity. Today if everybody donates 2.5% of his/her saving in charity, no one will remain poor in this world. All jobless or those who are physically handicapped are looked after by Islamic Govt. No one is without shelter and food. In Islam you can not eat your stomach full if your neighbore is hungery.

One must look after his neighbor. Hence, this punishment can only be given when every one is well of in the society and has no reason to steal otherwise. You will say why this tough punishment-- chopping of hand. Isalm protects rights of the society, instead that whole the society is keeping itself alert from thives why not punish the thives so that theives are negligible. In Saudi Arabia you dont need to lock your shop every now and then during the day.( by saying this I dont mean Saudi Arabia is following sharia--- I have reservations).

MUSLIM GIRLS ARE KILLED BY FATHERS AND BROTHERS FOR HAVING SEX OUT OF WEDLOCK: Yes you are right in some tribal areas of Pakistan this type of killing is done. They call it honour killing. This tradition has nothing to do with Isalm. As per Isalm there should be 4 eye witnesses who have seen the intercourse actually taking place. And it should be proved in the court. There are also the conditions on the character of the witnesses. Fathers or brothers have no authority to kill the girl. In Pakistan if they do it, police arrests them. Such incidents are almost negligible.

MUSLIMS REACTION ON CARTOONS ON MUHAMMAD(PBUH): I dont support violent reaction of muslims, but yes ,they have all the right to oppose it on media, go to court,,organise peaceful protests on streels as per law and show nuity, finally not buying products of such country.

Look if you people have stopped practicing your religion and you say whatever to christ and christanity, it is up to you, but why do you have to make cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUM) who lives in the heart and soul of every muslim practicing or non-practicing. Those who published it they clearly knew about the reaction,yet they did it.

I will say that these are very srategic moves of non-believers. They do this with various purposes. For e.g, to gauge if muslims still love Muhammad(PBUM), to divert muslims concentration, to harm their feelings and may be to sell their newspaper by this cheap way. No true muslim will support violence even in this case. Our Prophet Muhammad (PBUM) did not allow violence in his own life when non-believers used to insult him. He used to tell muslims, dont be harsh with them they are doing this because they dont know and they are in dark.

When Muhammad (PBUM) preaching Isalm,one non-believer woman used to throw garbage on him whenever he used to pass close to her home. One day gabage was not thrown on him,he inquired where is that lady who used to throw garbage on him,people said she is sick, Muhammad(PBUM) went to see her. In return she accepted Islam then and there. So Isalm does not preach violence. But muslims reserve the right to peaceful actions when their feeling are hurt.
