Reader comment on item: Learning Hebrew in Unlikely Places

Submitted by Ynnatchkah (United States), Dec 22, 2007 at 22:03

Is there any Sephardic reader, who knows Arabic enough to understand the non Jewish Arab kind, to inform me about how many years it takes to learn Arabic, to somebody who has base in several languages, none of them close to Arabic?

Actually, I have been thinking about for quite a time. It has become a matter of survival- I think.

I also think the Sephardic community should create courses/schools for Jews who want to learn Arabic.

It would disgust me to pay a course in the University where an Islamic fundamentalist convinces the University Administration that his/her role is imperative, due to quantity of students in his course.

To contribute to an Islamist struggle for his bread, it is not on my plans.
