Know thy enemyReader comment on item: Learning Hebrew in Unlikely Places Submitted by Joanne (United States), Dec 28, 2007 at 04:13 I once met a Frenchwoman, a student in Paris, who wanted to learn Hebrew. Unfortunately, she indeed said it was to know the enemy. She was radically pro-Arab, and wanted to be able to understand what Israeli soldiers were saying when she visited Palestine. Oh well. Let's hope that a healthy intellectual curiosity at least explains some of the interest in Hebrew.
