Polling method laughable, and delusion of American populaceReader comment on item: NIE News: Nearly 2/3s of Americans Say It Leaves Them Less Safe Submitted by Concerned Canadian (Canada), Dec 25, 2007 at 10:23 From a polling standpoint, taking results from a poll conducted by the "Israel Project" immediately indicates a biased response group. The supporters of the Israel Project are almost undeniably anti-Iranian due to the threat that Iran poses to Israel. Due to the threat Iran poses to Israel, those who respond indirectly feel America is also threatened. As a previous responder made reference to, the "evidence" that Iran poses a threat due to its pursuit of nuclear weapons is non-existance. Under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Iran is under full legal right to pursue nuclear technology. Given that the nation was declared "evil" in a Crusader-like style by an American President, Iran has now predictably been taken under its wing by both Russia and China. A thinking point would be to consider a poll conducted in Iran, to see if the Iranians feel "threatened" by either Israel or US. My guess would be the positive results would be significantly higher than this poll. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
