Ramadan Case Exposes Canadian Ineptness In Immigration EnforcementReader comment on item: Canada's Immigration Chaos, Mahmoud Mohammad, and Me Submitted by Jerry Frady (United States), Dec 26, 2007 at 10:10 ... Tariq Ramadan has been treated with "kid gloves" by Canadian officials. This case amplifies one of the main reasons the U.S. should never become a part of a regionalized group like President Bush is promoting in the North American Union--which is modeled after the European Union of "shared surender of national sovereignties." One only has to reflect on the terrific tragedies and troubles Europe is suffering under the "open" immigration policies which have allowed radicial jihadists to flood their member states. Canada's socialistic republic is no better and reflects that "we don't want to fight, just talk our way out of our problems" the European Union has adopted. That felon should have been deported or executed (which they would never do) at least a decade ago. Nuts like him are not only a threat to Canada but also to the U.S. since our northern border is wide-open for so they can "sneak" across it at will. I have been there and minor crossing points are operated on the "honor system" where one signs a sheet and calls in at a small shack where a Border Patrolman is rearely present. There is no way the laws of the U.S. could be "integrated" [harmonized] with those of Canada. Wackos like Ramadan provide ample evidence that it would mean a "surrender" of our laws as well as our sovereignty to do so.
