locales not yet part of their domain: How about the Moon ?Reader comment on item: The Prophet's Night Journey; To Where? Submitted by RobW (Saudi Arabia), Dec 31, 2007 at 08:35 As a long time westerner - resident of the Islamic world - I have heard a number of even more bizarre attempts to appropriate "locals not yet a part of their domain". The following are actual on-the-street beliefs in this part of the world: 1: When Neal Armstrong first stepped on the moon - hear heard the Islamic call to prayer. 2: A muslim explorer discovered America - well before Columbus. 3: Since Muslims live in Australia legally - and native Aussies were sent their as convicts - Muslims have a greater right to Austrailia than Aussies. Well - I'm glad we got all THAT settled. RobW Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
