With such friends...Reader comment on item: Bush's Middle East Hopes [and His Failures] Submitted by Y brandstetter MD (Israel), Jan 18, 2008 at 04:53 President Bush, with such friends….. An astute observer once noted that anti-Semitism is just like alcoholism. One can pretend the addiction has been subdued until the moment of crisis, when the bottle of Scotch is at hand. The anti-semitism of the US establishment is nothing new. In recent years it has transmuted into a new form, which is anti-Israel. When the President is in trouble, when his ideas and policies and actions seem to have failed, anti-semitism in its new form rears its ugly head, and Israel assumes the form of the scape-goat. President Bush, the Second, is case in point. Having failed in all aspects of his Presidency, having been dubbed "the worst president ever" he now completes the full circle from the War on Terror to the War on the Jews. From Moral clarity to Moral Anti-semitism, excuse me, anti-Israelism. President Bush, following the most vicious attack ever on the United States perpetrated by International Jihad, has finally chosen to take the position of International Jihad, turn on the Jews and say, you are the crux of the problem. If you had settled your problem with International Jihad as represented by the PLO, I would not be in hot water. To back up this claim, he, and the various organs of Beltway insiders can bring no facts, only analyses. There is no factual relationship between Syrian aspirations and machinations in Lebanon and the presence of a Jewish state south of Lebanon. There is no factual relationship between the Sunni-Shiite rivalry and the presence of the Jewish State upon that narrow strip of land between the Jordan and the Mediterranean. Israel has nothing to do with the incessant rivalry between fundamental Islamist totalitarianism and secular Arab tyranny. There is no proof whatsoever that the PLO is anything but an armed gang whose ideological roots are both Isalmist and Nazi. Despite all of the above President Bush has adopted the claim made by International Jihad that such a relationship exists. To placate this false grievance the President invokes the old canard of the Right of Return, a code-word for the unfettered invasion of Arabs into that aforementioned tiny strip of Land. The only real relationship is the pervasive oil-dependence which perverts all concepts of right and wrong, of justice and murder. Been there, done that, this is all old hat. Why would the Leader of the Free world legitimate these perversions of facts and logic, and condone the Right of Return of Arabs to the Holy Land even though he knows full well all it means is another holocaust? Because the Jews themselves have become anti-Semitic. The Jews evict their own from tracts of land, destroy towns and villages in acquiescence with perceived Arab demands, and relate to their ancestral homeland as Palestinian territories, or at best Disputed territories. They go along with or even justify all manners of terror by encouraging the armed islamo-Nazi gangs to roam the Land and kill Jewish "settlers", and pervert their own Justice systems in feckless attempts to find justifications to release convicted murderers. Further, the leadership appears intent on providing the armed murderous gangs with the topography, access to weapons and all necessary funds to achieve their goal of the demolition of the Jewish State, inclusive of beseeching foreign powers to support all measures and parties who will assure the ascendancy of the Islamo-Nazi power. They provide the Islamo-Nazi dictatorship in Gaza with sustenance so their ability to bombard Jews in unimpaired. When such blatant anti-semitism is practiced by the Jewish State, it is unreasonable to expect the President of the United States not to support his own establishment which calls for the elimination of the Jewish Problem as a pretext for Arab malevolence and terror. President Bush, pandered to by the Establishment Jewry as Israel's best friend, has proven to be Israel's most relentless enemy. He has endorsed the Islamo-Nazi armed gangs code-named PLO, endorsed the partition of the Holy Land with the Jew's most prodigious killers after Hitler, and has now endorsed the Right of Return, meaning the demographic demise of the Jewish State. However, Bush's perfidity is dwarfed by the Jewish leadership in Israel and the Diaspora who actually carries out these incongruous policies. With such friends, who needs enemies? With such leadership, watch out for the smoke-stacks. It is high time for America to see anti-Israelism for what it is: Addictive anti-semitism. It is high time for Israel to elect a leadership which is loyal to the Jewish State, the Jewish People, rather than the anti-semitic establishment on both sides of the atlantic, on both sides of the Mediterranean. Let there be hope (Tikva) for both Americans and Jews to recognize the common enemy, International Jihad. For if there is no agreement upon the identity of the enemy, confusion will reign, policies will be muddled, and the blood-shed will be enormous.
