well, some of you will hate me for this idea, but so what?Reader comment on item: Mike Huckabee's Unique Foreign Policy Submitted by plusaf (United States), Jan 23, 2008 at 02:26 i came up with a solution to the Palestinian question some months ago.......... you're gonna hate this one, but i think it's pretty cool.... Israel should dig up as much of the soil of Israel as they think would contain its "holiness" and then negotiate a 999-year lease of all of Baja California from Mexico. then spread the holy soil all over the peninsula and move ALL of the Israeli people to Baja. infrastructure could be left in place or dismantled if it makes sense to transport it that far..... or disabled or destroyed. take the people and their drive and ambition and skill, knowledge and energy from the middle east and plant all of them just south of the US border. the New Israel, dangling just below San Diego, would essentially be immune from any outside attack, since all of the US armaments we'd care to distribute to them could be used in their defense [or as a justification for the US' defense of itself...] they'd turn Baja into a fertile land with probably some good mineral exports, fruit and vegetable exports, not to mention the computer chips and other hardware and software and pharmaceutical developments which have created wealth for Israel over the past decades. after all, Mexico could probably use the money, would be well to hire the Mossad to help straighten out some illegal activities on the "Mexican Mainland," and have a great export-import neighbor right across the Baja Gulf! and with the "holy land" spread out over the entire length of the Peninsula, it would keep its value to the religious people who'd value that..... oh, by the way, here's the other trick... all of the holy sites around Israel would be removed and replaced, under cover of darkness [and national security] with fake replacements. the originals would then be relocated to Baja to secure positions easily accessible for worship and not accessible to theft, damage, or other religions' fanatics. that idea kind of goes with stripping a bit of "holy soil" off the top of the land and keeping it for Israel's posterity. think about it..... with Israel "gone," the militant Islamists could demonstrate to the world what they could do to the "Holy Land" when it was completely under their control.... just don't plan on any pharmaceuticals, pc chips, software or vegetables or fruit to come out soon.
