You seem to want the US government to overturn the rules of common sense by subsidizing or suppressing various energy related industries. Look at the ethanol mess in the US if you want to see the results locally. We're turning perfectly good food into very marginally useful fuel, and now we find that ethanol production and use actually results in higher CO2 emissions than gasoline. When government gets involved in central planning games like these, there is always waste and stupidity, and especially graft on a colossal scale.
