Turn the other cheek? Love your enemy?Reader comment on item: Fourteen Terrorist Attacks a Day against Israel Submitted by Jaymz (United States), Mar 26, 2008 at 15:19 Wow, fourteen attacks a day. They must be counting swear-words and children giving the finger to the IDF. To Larry & Jennifers quotes... "For each palestinian or hamas rocket, deliver 5." - well, this is what is happening. Each week, the IDF kill around a dozen people in Gaza... almost 50% of them 'innocent civilians' And that's the problem really, isn't it? - How will there ever be peace if folks like yourself advocate retaliation & revenge, and they do the same? How will there ever be peace when both sides want to teach each other a lesson? Is there any difference between your words and those from Hamas? Neither side can win this, and neither side can lose. The Palestinians may be defeated, but unless Israel pulls a Hitler, you can't quash their desire to live as free people. The more you try, the more they'll fight back and turn to extremism. If you aren't reaching out to your enemy, you're part of the conflict. A famous chap once said, "Love your enemy," and "turn the other cheek." Even if he wasn't the son of god, he had a good point.
