You need to stop looking through the eyes of the western history or any other religion. Islam is not a religion per say. As it was formed much after Judaism and Christianity, it is more or less salvaged from these two religions combined with a militancy to spread it by the 'sword'. It is a stuck and has a bullying tendency.

For that the Muslim block as such has nothing else to claim in terms of discovery and innovation - except this so called religion. By far Islam has a great deal of violence in it and there is no concept of moderation. It is what it is. Whoever has the money or power rules in this thinking. Thought, moderation, change is Not a part of Islam.
