The silence of the preoccupied LeftReader comment on item: My Disrupted Talk at UC-Berkeley Submitted by Ken Besig (Israel), May 2, 2008 at 05:37 I too would like to hope that the courtesy shown to you, Dr. Pipes, and Victor Davis Hanson as well, (I am not at all familiar with Yaron Brook) is the sign of a trend towards a more civil and courteous discourse on American college and university campuses and not just the fact that the University security personnel were out in force to prevent any disruption. I doubt this very much and believe that the only reason the radical, fundamentalist, and Che Guevara type Left wing protesters failed to show up to attack your panel is that they are too busy travelling around the country physically and verbally promoting their favorite Democratic candidate for the nomination of that benighted political party. And if by chance their picked candidate, whether Obama or Clinton, fails to win the General Election in the fall over John McCain, they will return in full force, if not worse, to their old tried and true methods of physically and verbally disrupting the speeches and discussions of those with whom they disagree. This is because these people are savages, modern Visigoths if you will, who are only capable of destruction.
