Obama's Outright Lies at AIPAC Taken One by OneReader comment on item: Obama vs. McCain on the Middle East Submitted by Sofa Sogood (United States), Jun 6, 2008 at 05:03 Wed June 4, 2008 CHANGE - OBAMA PLAYS PRETEND AT AIPAC TODAY http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/06/change-obama-plays-pretend-at-aipac.html A = What he said at AIPAC. B = What he has said or done prior to AIPAC. 1. BARACK OBAMA ATTENDED A CHURCH FOR 20 YEARS THAT SUPPORTED HAMAS AND ATTACKED JEWS. 2A. there are those who would lay all of the problems of the Middle East at the doorstep of Israel and its supporters. These voices blame the Middle East's only democracy for the region's extremism. They offer the false promise that abandoning a stalward ally is somehow the path to strength. It is not, it never has been, and it never will be. 2B. But when Barack Obama was asked last month about Israel's drag on America, he replied, "...I THINK IS THAT THIS CONSTANT WOUND, THAT THIS CONSTANT SORE, DOES INFECT ALL OF OUR FOREIGN POLICY." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=64236 3A. As president, I will implement a Memorandum of Understanding that provides $30 billion in assistance to Israel over the next decade — investments to Israel's security that will not be tied to any other nation. [What is he talking about here? Why bring up a dollar amount for 10 years into the future?] First, we must approve the foreign aid request for 2009. [Very strange way to word this. What's the meaning of bringing up 2009 in this context?] GOING FORWARD, WE CAN ENHANCE OUR COOPERATION ON MISSILE DEFENSE. We should export military equipment to our ally Israel under the same guidelines as NATO. And I will always stand up for Israel's right to defend itself in the United Nations and around the world. 3B. OBAMA OPPOSED TO MISSILE DEFENSE. A New Era for Early Warning by William M. Arkin on National and Homeland Security Posted at 6:00 am ET, 05/28/2008 Washingtonpost.com "I DON'T AGREE WITH A MISSILE DEFENSE SYSTEM" Promising that he would save billions in wasteful defense spending by cutting missile defense system resarch by as much as $10 billion Kyl said during an event sponsored by the American Foreign Policy Council. "He's proposing to cut $10 billion out of a budget that wasn't even $10 billion this year," Kyl sarcastically added. 4A. There is no room at the negotiating table for terrorist organizations. That is why I opposed holding elections in 2006 with Hamas on the ballot. The Israelis and the Palestinian Authority warned us at the time against holding these elections. But this administration pressed ahead, and the result is a Gaza controlled by Hamas, with rockets raining down on Israel, 4B. HAMAS CONTROL GAZA BECAUSE ISRAEL WITHDREW FROM THE GAZA STRIP, NOT BECAUSE OF DEMOCRATIC ELECTIONS. ALSO -- SEE 1 ABOVE -- 20 YEARS WITH A CHURCH THAT SUPPORTED HAMAS. 5A. Syria has taken dangerous steps in pursuit of weapons of mass destruction, which is why Israeli action was justified to end that threat. 5B. OBAMA QUESTIONED ISRAEL'S BOMBING OF THE SYRIAN NUCLEAR PLANT LAST YEAR. MSNBC Sept 27 debate with Clinton Clinton -- and the Israelis took it out. I strongly support that...there was evidence of a North Korea freighter coming in with supplies. There was Intelligence and other kinds of verification. Obama -- Now, we don't know exactly what happened with respect to Syria. We've gotten general reports, but we don't know all the specifics. We got general reports in the run-up to the Iraq war that proved erroneous, and a lot of people voted for that war as a consequence. 6A. The danger from Iran is grave, it is real, and my goal will be to eliminate this threat. 6B. BARACK OBAMA TOLD A CROWD OF 75,000 IN OREGON LAST MONTH THAT IRAN IS NOT A THREAT. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/05/obama_tells_75000_oregonians_i.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ew5qP2oPdtQ Following are excerpts from American Thinker Blog Made one of the most outrageously stupid comments of the campaign to date. If the GOP were smart, they would take this comment and run it from now until November. It might be useful as an undergraduate course exam. How many errors can you spot? Iran [etc.] don't post a serious threat to us. So, taken literally, he seems not much concerned about Iran's acquisition of nuclear weapons, its sponsorship of terrorist organizations, its commitment to eradicate Israel, its current actions in supplying weapons that have killed hundreds of Americans in Iraq, and its role in eroding Lebanon's sovereignty through its client Hezbollah. 7A. When I opposed the war...Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was elected president in 2005. And the United States and Israel are less secure. 7B. THERE IS NO PROOF THAT AHMADINEJAD WAS ELECTED BECAUSE OF THE IRAQ WAR. AHMADINEJAD AND THE OTHER IRANIAN LEADERS ARE ALL [US &] ISRAEL HATERS. 8A. Sen. McCain offers a false choice. Stay the course in Iraq, or cede the region to Iran. I reject this logic because there is a better way. Keeping all of our troops tied down indefinitely in Iraq is not the way to weaken Iran -- it is precisely what has strengthened it. It is a policy for staying, not a plan for victory. 8B. OBAMA WAS FOR SURRENDER IN IRAQ EVEN IF IT RESULTED IN GENOCIDE. http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2007/07/republicans-democrats-draw-line-on.html Democratic Senator and Presidential Candidate Barak Obama - Political Stump Speech, July 19, 2007 Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Thursdsay the United States cannot use its military to solve humanitarian problems and that preventing a potential genocide in Iraq isn't a good enough reason to keep U.S. forces there ... There's no doubt there are risks of increased bloodshed in Iraq without a continuing U.S. presence there. 9A. They forget the example of Truman, and Kennedy and Reagan. These presidents understood that diplomacy backed by real leverage was a fundamental tool of statecraft. And it is time to once again make American diplomacy a tool to succeed, not just a means of continuing failure. 9B. KENNEDY'S MEETING WITH KHRUSHCHEV WAS A COMPLETE DISASTER. THE BERLIN WALL WAS ERECTED 39 DAYS AFTER THE MEETINGS. [SOME SAY KHRUSHCHEV FELT SO SUPERIOR TO THE INEXPERIENCED KENNEDY AFTER HE MADE A FOOL OF HIM IN THE "TALKS" THAT HE WAS EMBOLDENED TO CAUSE THE CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS. KHRUSHCHEV THOUGHT KENNEDY WOULDN'T BE STRONG ENOUGH TO STAND UP TO HIM. HOW WOULD OBAMA DO IN A CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS TYPE EVENT?] 10A. If Iran fails to change course when presented with this choice by the United States, it will be clear -- to the people of Iran, and to the world -- that the Iranian regime is the author of its own isolation. 10B. IRAN IS ALREADY WITHHOLDING KEY INFORMATION. NO NUMBER FOR THE FOLLOWING SHOWING THAT OBAMA IS PRO-PALESTINIAN. Common Dreams Earlier in his career, Obama took a relatively balanced perspective on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, aligning himself with positions embraced by the Israeli peace camp and its American supporters. For example, during his unsuccessful campaign for Congress in 2000, Obama criticized the Clinton administration for its unconditional support for the occupation and other Israeli policies and called for an even-handed approach to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He referred to the "cycle of violence" between Israelis and Palestinians, while most Democrats were referring to "Palestinian violence and the Israeli response." Electronic Intifada If disappointing, given his historically close relations to Palestinian-Americans, Obama's about-face is not surprising. He is merely doing what he thinks is necessary to get elected and he will continue doing it as long as it keps him in power. Obama was a Community Fundraiser for Palestinian Rights. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ehr4f3bjGM&eurl=http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/search?q= Why does the commentator say it is something which would only trouble Jewish American Voters? Israel is an American Ally, not just a Jewish American Ally. A Phoney is a phoney to ALL American voters. Obama is misrepresenting himself to ALL Americans.
