How are we going to win?

"But Pipes, slipping into prophetic mode, has faith that the country will ultimately come around. "What I see is we're going to be hit and hit again. At a certain point, I think we're going to win, and the question is how many superfluous losses are we going to take because..."

Please tell me, how are we going to win. I have no intention of envisioning defeat. But I see mostly holding actions. In other words, I'm very pessimistic about our being able to maintain our way of (free) life. And it makes me sad.
