Pipes is Right OnReader comment on item: Pipes' Dreams Submitted by Dolce H. Farniente (United States), Sep 15, 2002 at 15:30 I could not agree more with Daniel Pipes re militant Islam.I also think that mainstream Moslems are either afraid of Militant Islam or, not so secretly, admire the idea. Every time I read about any "moderate" Moslem's condemnation of 9/11, there is an invariable reference to the Zionists, Jews or Israel being involved somehow, or some suggestion that we deserved it, because of our support for Israel. Why can't Moslems, especially clerics, come out and say plainly, that bin Laden, his followers and his theories, are heaping garbage or worse on the name of Allah? Similarly, they should not attach any qualifications regarding America's policy in the Middle East or alleged Zionist conspiracies. EVIL should be called EVIL. Until this happens, I will agree with Daniel Pipes and indeed, continue to believe that he does not go far enough.
