What? comment from a FrenchReader comment on item: Muslim France Submitted by Léa (France), Jan 16, 2009 at 18:24 I am French ...One single exemple: "With a population of over three million Muslims, about half of them citizens..." well, France has more than 63 millions citizens. So, IF there are three millions Muslims they don't represents the half of French citizens... Then, it's just impossible to say how many Muslims lives in France because the law forbids anyone to collect informations about ethnies and religions... so that, you can't know where immigrants come from and what are their religions! however, the majority of them certainely come from the north of Africa because it was French 50 years ago! I don't want to answer to each point underlined by the article (I respect English too much to continue with gramatical mistakes!) but I just would like to say that what is called 'suburbs of Islam' (I never heard about it!) with gangs (etc) have just the same problems than the problems which exist in the States with new immigrants (Hispanics in the South of your country...). However, nobody says that it's a 'catholic problem'... Oh, one last thing "The French, like almost all modern peoples, are not sustaining their own population". It was maybe true in 1995 but it is not anymore! And not thanks to immigrants!! Submitting....
