George Mitchell's Return to Middle East DiplomacyReader comment on item: George Mitchell's Return to Middle East Diplomacy Submitted by Ms. Anne (United States), Jan 30, 2009 at 08:33 Thank you Dr. Pipes for the list of Diplomatic Initiatives that have been instituted for peace. The list is vast, and the successes few. I am glad to know what they are and who proposed them. This proves one thing. The Arabs do not want to live side by side with Israel, and continually show anti-semetism for Israel and the Jewish people. There is no other explanation. Frankly I am sick and tired of people who come up with these initiatives, but are totally blind, and in the dark about Israel's situation. This whole situation in the middle-east continues to be a powder keg. Egypt could be praised if they would do something about the smuggling of arms through the tunnels. I have never seen a race of people, or groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, who have such a one track mind, that they cannot allow any other thoughts of peace, or fairness to change their perception. The same goes for the leaders in the United States. Total blindness to the real obstacle for any kind of peace. Its called fairness to Israel! One man will solve the conflict that began in Abraham's day, ( The second coming of Christ.) Mortal man will not be able to end this anti-semetic conflict., this is quite obvious!
