Musharraf's Historic SpeechReader comment on item: Musharraf's Historic Speech Submitted by KUMAR (United States), Mar 9, 2009 at 23:17 I just happened to come across Ari Jacobs, and was surprised how one sided Mr. Jacobs passionately shows his contempt for Hindus. In one visit to India in 2005, a time when India was facing trials and tribulations from Islamist in the state of Gujarat, Mr. Jacobs quickly assumes hatred was bequeathed upon him from the Hindus in the citities of Gujarat he visited. Now obviously most Indian Jews do not live in the state of Gujarat and people in the cities of Ahmedabad may have mistaken Mr. Jacobs as a Arab sheikh. What Mr. Jacobs fails to understand is that Hacedic jews are often misunderstood to be Islamic sheikhs in a lot of the asian countries because of the lack of understanding and knowledge of the local peoples. After the 2002 Godhra incident in which Muslims carried out one of the gravest carnages against innocent Hindus, the people of Gujarat are very wary of Islamists, especially the ones that come abroad from Arabia and the Arab lands and continue their hate-filled venom of Kafirs, which includes Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Zorastrians (Parsis), Bahai's, Ayyavazhis, Mandeans, Yazhidis, Christians, Jews, and any other non-Muslim. While I am sure Mr. Jacobs may have gotten some strange looks (more probably so in fear than hatred as Mr. Jacobs suggest), how can Mr. Jacobs come so quick to denounce the VHP and the RSS. If Mr. Jacobs took the time to actually understand both sides of the spectrum, rather than quickly jumping on the side of his Muslim friends, he would realize the RSS and VHP are very pro-Israel and pro-Jewish, and we all know how Musharaff and Pakistan feel about Israel and Jews (and if you don't just remember Daniel Pearl). Furthermore Mr. Jacobs fails to realize that ever since destruction of Babylon and the jewish disapora from the Arab lands, many Jews had settled in India and have lived in India for thousands of years. The Jews along with the Zorastrians and later the Bahai, were all welcomed to India fleeing the Islamic persecution of the Arab lands. This evident in Mumbai which boasts the largest Indian Jewish population in Asia. Along with Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata (Calcutta), Imphal, Kottareddipalem, and Cochin hold a respectable jewish population although Cochin, Kolkata, and Delhi saw an exodus of Jews to Israel after the establishment of Israel. Jewish roots in Cochin are so strong, the nickname for Cochin is "Jew Town", and the city of Cochin was provided to the jews by the Maharaja of Kerala. The Pardesi Synagoge is the largest Synagoge in Asia. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Cochin, Kottareddipalem, Imphal all have several synagogues throughout the cities. The Indian jewish communities that continue to reside and flourish in India today are the Bene Menshe (Mumbai), Bene Ephraim (Kottareddipalem), Baghdadi Jews (Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata), Manipuri Jews (Imphal, and scattered in the states of Manipur and Mizoram), and Kochinis (Cochin jews). Furthermore, Jewish Indians have served in the military, General Jacob-Farj-Rafael Jacob was the lead Lt General under the Zorastrian General Sam Mackenshaw to defeat Pakistan in the 1st and 2nd Indo-Pak war. Esther Victoria Abraham was the first Miss India and the first Jewish Miss India. David Abraham Cheulkar and Farhat Ezekiel Nadira, the Indian-Jewish actor and actress molded Bollywood into the Indian Hollywood it is so well known today. Sopher Solomon an Indian Jewish lawyer was instrumental in creating India's constitution and continues be an active Mumbai leader fostering ties bettwen India and Israel. Ironically Sopher Solomon's legal articles have been the basis on which the RSS and VHP have based many of their principles on. Albert and David Sassoon the Indian Jewish merchants/businessmen opened up and molded Indian exports to maintain a competitive edge against China. While there are some radicals in the VHP and RSS, most of the VHP and RSS while not anti-Muslim (given the amount of terrorist activity unleashed by muslims throughout India) are have no qualms with any other peoples. The same too in Israel, doesn't Shamas Orthodox support the expulsion of Muslims from Israeli territory? Shamas Orthodox are not friendly people either, and one could even argue Shamas Orthodox twist historical facts in their favor as Ari Jacobs blames the RSS and VHP for doing. The fact is Islamists are huge in numbers in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and in the south pacific region. Israel and India both have been victimized by Islamists time and time again. Hindus and Hebrews are not all that dissimilar as Ari Jacobs prescribes; perhaps Ari Jacobs should do more research prior to quickly jumping in support of Musharaff, because if Ari thinks he got questionable looks from Indians, imagine what will happen to Ari in Pakistan or Afghanistan... perhaps Ari Jacobs needs a reality check.
