Hostages were asked what Religion and treated accordinglyReader comment on item: US 'weak-kneed' in pressuring Saudi Arabia to stamp out terrorism Submitted by Debbie Walls (United States), Jun 1, 2004 at 00:58 The Hostages so savagely attacked in the Khobar Compound this past weekend, were all asked what religion they were: Muslim or Christian. The Christians who answered, "I am a Christian." were killed, injured or mistreated. That's the crux of the issue over there...not oil production. Also, the Saudi Government owned and censored Newspapers have been filled with Anti-western sentiment for years, so I don't agree that the Royal Family is only placating the terrorists to protect themselves. One must ask, "How did the al-Qaeda Terrorists in the Khobar Raid obtain Saudi Military Uniforms AND why did the Saudi Military allow three of the Terrorists to escape?". Maybe the US Administration needs to encourage some housecleaning in the House of Saud. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
