Reader comment on item: US 'weak-kneed' in pressuring Saudi Arabia to stamp out terrorism

Submitted by Daniel (Australia), Jun 10, 2004 at 13:37

I think the US has learned to bite its tongue when it comes to oil rich Saudi Arabia. Only by affecting the Green movement, and illegitimizing the Arab's oil wealth which has been held against the West since the 1973 Yom Kippur War, can we actually then get up and start influencing the Middle East much more than presently.

As technology improves, hopefully fuelling the West from within, this issue can be solved and show terrorists that we will stand firm, while terrorists are shot down and captured.

While terrorists use different weapons in this 'War on Terror', it is important that we come up with new strategies to fight terrorism, as it changes everything.
