We are in the sad position of suffering yet again, unintended consequences. The CIA taught Osama bin Laden all he knows and now he's using it all against us. The CIA elevated Saddam Hussein to power and he abused that power and we had to dethrone him at great cost and much blood. The Saudis were not to be trusted, but we gave them much power for the price of cheap oil. Now that mistake is coming back to haunt us. Hopefully it's two steps forward, one step backward, instead of one step forward, two steps backward.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
