#461 Scott Alexander's about-face

Reader comment on item: Middle East Studies on Trial

Submitted by James Ferrell (United States), Jun 18, 2004 at 15:37

Mr. Pipes,

Based on the circumstantial evidence presented, It would appear that Mr. Alexander may have been influenced by superiors, possibly the Bishop of the Diocese. My guess is that Alexander was reminded that to defend such an obviously hate-filled and devious individual is against all Catholic teaching, even today. The Catholic view that Jews are G-d's chosen race has never wavered, thus the defense or assistance of such radicals cannot be canonically supported.
