Religion = evil

Lets be honest, the only reason we have diplomatic relations with Islamic nations is to do with oil, if they only had sand, then they would end up isolated like North Korea, simple. What this planet needs is a good old fashioned dose of aethiesm, I just can't understand how people base their entire lives on fiction, Islam is particularly gruesome, but even people who believe Jews are "chosen" frighten me, kind of sounds like National Socialism's "Herrenvolk" doesn't it? Religion is an outdated form of control, it had a purpose a few hundred years ago, but it is no longer relevant, we have governments, laws, legislature, people can look after themselves and no longer need a "god". ...
