Comparison between Islamic and non-Islamic worlds

Dear Dr. Pipes:

I want to know if some sociologist has done and objective study comparing the Islamic and non-Islamic words in terms of rate of violence, rate of infant mortality, per capita income for men and women, education levels, industrial productivity, education level of people, and other such measures. I often think what would have been the state of our planet if all the petroleum wealth had been in the hands of some non-Islamic nations and what would Saudi Arabia, Iran, Dubai, Bahrain had looked like if they did not have the oil-wealth.

If such studies exist, I will like to know about them.
