Circular evidenceReader comment on item: "The Jews Are Going, the Arabs Are Coming" Submitted by George P (India), Aug 1, 2009 at 08:05 Dear Editor: The letter like Soomro's exemplifies what is wrong in the religious reasoning. Soomro has used the circular reasoning that something is true because it says that it is true. This kind of reasoning will find no substance in a scientific or logical setting. It will not find in our day-to-day non-religious life either. For example, no one will buy a product just because the word "best" is inscribed on the box. But when it comes to religions, billions of people believe things for which there is no objective support. It is ok if Soomro believes that his religion is the best or final but if he starts calling other religions bad --based on his beliefs-- he becomes wrong. In my book a flexible compassionate religion is a lot better than a non-compromising one who is willing to die and kill for unsubstantiated beliefs.
