cold-war-analysis: why an american airstrike rather than an israeli one ? hidden support for Israel ?Reader comment on item: Some Common Sense in Egypt and Saudi Arabia Submitted by myth (Germany), Dec 25, 2009 at 19:43 Bryan, what I find even more stunning is that the poll shows that people want the USA to carry out an airstrike rather than Israel. If I was an enemy of Israel I would rather have Israel do it for it would create hostility against Israel. Let me analyze the result the opposite way: People would rather have the US attack in order to keep Israel safe and secure in the immediate future. This fits into Dr Pipes' portray of a cold war going on in the middle-east with those three countries being in one camp. In a way I see a statement emerging that says the following: Any country strong enough to threaten Israel is strong enough to threaten us. Common enemies produce new friends.
