No tragedy of any proportion will wake those presently asleep

It's a waste of time to expect an incompetent bloated army of clock-watching pencil pushers to operate smoothly to protect Americans. They won't and they can't as they are constituted at present. Overpaid and under-worked, government employees wait for pensions and yearly salary increases. Picking up their paychecks is their job, putting in 8 hours a day is the price they pay for it. Firing them for incompetence is impossible When 9/11 happened, heads should have rolled, but because GWB had people stand by him in hard times he foolishly stood by the heads of the CIA, FBI, FAA and the like. What an example that set for those below them on the feeding chain! Napolitano's prepostrerous statement that all went well reveals what degree of contempt for the American people now exists in the White House. She is supposed to serve the peoples' will, not be its parent, providing them with housing, unlimited credit, medical care and the like yet neglecting their safety in flight except to abuse them with unnecessary searches and procedures while ignoring viable suspects.

Yes, cavity searches for all is next and then Al Qaeda will recruit unstable white male or female sympathizers, dress them up in nice threads and set them off to set off the skies. Or they'll concentrate on shoulder operated missile launchers along flight paths in the countryside. Not to mention WMDs. They will not give up until they have either brought America to her knees or America makes their existence impossible by turning their hosts against them. The basic Afghanistan/Iraq pincer movement against Iran was the right idea badly executed. If GWB had ignored the sociological rubbish about nation building and fought a war as if he'd meant it, Iran's nuclear facilities would have been dismantled long ago, N. Korea brought to civilization and that's that.

The good news is that there are still half a million boots flanking Iran to west and east. Time to move the aircraft carriers in and make them pay for their Christmas assault. No one has commented on that point. Our insulting of Islam is to be met with by death but Christmas bombings and Yom Kippur wars are supposed to be accepted as the lot of inferior peoples.

But the job won't be done. It won't be done because America is no longer the land of the brave and free. Its cowardice is a mirror of Romans who gave up their freedoms for security in Augustus' time. It took Rome a long time to fall only because the barbarians didn't have access to WMDs. What would Thomas Payne and Patrick Henry thought of these self-satisfied waddling Americans of today? Oh, wait... that's Burger King's and the "profit-system"'s fault. I forgot the gospel according to what's-his-tummy.

There is something basically wrong in America. She's lost her way. People who believe the government is all-powerful and can live their lives for them: lives without risk, without pain, without disappointment....

I give up. Where is Patrick Henry?
