Maldives and Sharia

President Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom is misleading the world by showing that he is trying to develop criminal justice system by getting aid from U.N. He played fool with the people of Maldives for more than 17 years reforming the constitution. After only 7 years we are about to reform it! What a big joke? We have no trust on him. He should resign from the post with his entire cabinet who have been ruling the country with an iron fist policy for the past 27 years. Last month he crushed a pro democracy demonstartion.

I urge the international community to come to Maldives and talk to the people not the government so as to find out the reality here. We have no freedom of expression or religion. This is a dictatorship ruled by few clans of Qayyooms family. Thats why he is the longest serving President of Asia.
