Fact Shy MuslimsReader comment on item: The Blame Game Submitted by SMJ (Australia), Feb 21, 2010 at 22:11 Muslims are fact-shy. They have a blame mentality not just for the west but also their own leaders, but never themselves as a community. And then you have these so called intellectuals who promote this mentality. You are right that as long as they remain quagmired in self destructive approach, they will never make it good for anyone, including themselves. Conspiracies do happen. Perhaps over a million conspiracies are being hatched at this very moment across the world. And indeed, countries including the US conspire. They are not angels (I personally believe even angels conspire) but the same applies to the Muslims. They conspire on every day basis right from their leadership to a hawker on the street. The world is about survival and in order to survive we plan and one's plan to survive or prevail can be taken as another's conspiracy. But what prevails in the Muslim world is the conspiracy theory mentality that refuses to find and learn the facts. They simply hinge on to whatever is told to them by some conspiracy-monger. Take for instance, 9/11. A vast majority of Muslims still believe that it was carried out by Mossad and/or it was an "inside job" and that 4000 jews did not turn up to their work inside the twin towers that day. This theory has been refuted with facts time and time and details are available on the US government websites. But no use. A vast majority continue to believe what they heard from someone on the street. I personally the cause of this mentality is the lack of education and particularly close-minded society the Muslims have created over the past several hundred years of not questioning. Not questioning their practices, not questioning their faith, not questioning their misery and so on. So the automatic outcome is a blame mentality and conspiracy theories because they are an excellent, effortless solution to everything that happens in and around your life. I agree that unless that mentality changes, Muslims will continue to suffer from the mess of their own creation. Submitting....
