Questions and HandsReader comment on item: Republicans and Democrats Look at the Arab-Israeli Conflict Submitted by Jay1 (United States), Mar 26, 2010 at 20:12 Dr. Pipes article as to why Democrats are less supportive of Israel than Republicans is fascinating. It opens up cans of questions that boggle the mind. For instance, are the Democrats more hostile to Israel because they view an upscale success story (like Israel) as "only" the result of harming a less fortunate? Who knows. In the same vein,do the Democrats gravitate to the poor,on issues whether right or wrong ,because their roots, measured by time since 1776, are closer to when a living member of there family was poor? Who knows.Considering that near 80% of Jewish people are seemingly liberal Democrat, does that give Democrats the cover,ok ,and ability to rally against Israel even when Israel is right.?Who knows. But Jewish democrats should ask. To their credit ,Republicans are dismayed by the ill treatment of Israel, even when Jewish people sort of have a hand in it.
