Don't hold your breathReader comment on item: Britain's New Export: Islamist Carnage Submitted by Arn Hatfield (Canada), Aug 3, 2010 at 07:10 Mr. Pipes asks, "..... how much longer will it take for the British authorities to realize that their current policies – trying to improve Muslims' material circumstances while appeasing Islamists – misses the ideological imperative?" That is the million dollar question and I have been asking the same one since the years that the radical imam Sheikh Abu Hamza used to spread his vitriol against Britain, the U.S and Israel from London's infamous Finsbury Mosque and did so with impunity under the oh so politically correct Labour government. This was in the years prior to the 7/7 tube bombings when the British government were still suffering under the illusion of "Oh well if we just allow them to spew their poison and don't bother them maybe they won't bomb us." WRONG This same Labour government had also tolerated the viral infection of Sharia law into Britain's family law courts with the blessings of the Archbishop of Canterbury as well as no-go zones in Britain in Muslim neighbourhoods where the British authorities including the police will not tread. While the current Conservative Prime Minister, David Cameron, was waiting in the wings for the PM job, his party's platform included promises to immediately scrap the Sharia courts and eliminate the no-go zones; neither of which has he accomplished or even mentioned since assuming power. Indeed the ideologically unreliable Mr. Cameron has moved in the opposite direction by continuing to appease the British Islamists by expressing his support of Erdogan of Turkey and the 'Flotilla of Hope' while equally condemning our greatest ally in the ME, Israel, for their actions against the flotilla and their continued occupation of Gaza. It is hard to believe that this is the same British people who produced the Magna Carta which was both symbolic and instrumental in starting the Western world on the long road to democracy; who stood up to the Spanish Armada and against religious extremism and foreign domination; who stalwartly fought alone against Hitler and the Nazis juggernaut during the Battle of Britain while the rest of Europe was falling like dominos and then hosted the allied invasion of Normandy which contributed significantly to ending the war in Europe. It is these same people who now support a line of dhimmi governments since WW11 who refuse to stand up to radical Islamists who are legally walking into Britain as a result of undiscerning immigration and then raising their children as home grown terrorists. It is deeply disappointing and profoundly hard to accept for someone of British ancestry like myself but sadly true with no indication whatsoever that the current crop of dhimmi British authorities will make any effort at all to change this move towards final submission to Islam.
