Why can't Islamists see this simple fact

Dear Dr. Pipes,

Regarding Hamas leaders interested in living in Israel, I wonder why Islamists cannot see this fact that is clear to everyone else. Any place that becomes 98% muslim becomes, 100% worse than other places. More Muslims get killed by other muslims in Pakistan and in other Islamic countries than in non-Islamic countries. Pakistan, the world's only modern country artificially created in the name of Islam (and 98% Islamic) is in such a miserable shape that it's cricket team has to travel to other nations to hold its own games. Every Islamic land that does not have oil reserves, has extreme poverty. Baring Muslim immigrants to the west, Islamic populations in non-Islamic nations are poorer than the average. These facts are should be obvious to any objective observer. Islamists should not pray for emirates and khaliphates. They should pray for secular democracies.
