The French comment on how Arafat was "unlikely to achieve his dream of a Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem" is a scream. I believe he turned it down in 2000, unable to give up on the fantasy of Israel's destruction.
At least Arafat left the world a better place. He died. We have one less terrorist. We can only hope the Palestinians don't miss yet another opportunity. Time is running out on them. The NATO foreign minister (who is Dutch) said the Europeans need to come around to the American strategy for dealing with terrorism. Radical Islamists may lose their apologists throughout Europe, unless they change their ways.
