Death Becomes Him

Reader comment on item: Arafat's Bedroom Farce

Submitted by Arlinda DeAngelis (United States), Nov 13, 2004 at 05:48

Nothing became Arafat so in life as his leaving of it.

Arafat's death and burial is a perfect metaphor for his despicable life.

The Arabs in Palestine gave him their most precious gift, their children, whom he corrupted into weapons for which he was so generously rewarded by the surrounding Arab states along with the personal esteem and love of Arabs everywhere.

He went to France to die in secret because in his totally corrupt life he had not the decency to build even one hospital.

The Arabs gave "the leader" everythng and, in return, he gave them nothing. What is there to say about such a society? They obviously prefer living and dying on their knees, poor, ignorant and impoverished. Perhaps it reaffirms their belief that they are nothing and the leader is everything.
