Burn!

I tried saying this on the Fox site but it got sent to censor hell, so I will try again here.

Dr. Pipes understands the situation and American law. We are being threatened overtly by barbarians who claim a religious duty to murder for a book. Just a copy of a book, of which there are millions of copies. We hear from an editor at Time magazine that The Quran is more holy than other books. This is what the killers say and want us to say and believe. They have been threatening us with this violence for years while we have responded with ever more acquiescence which has spurred them on to make more threats. Enough!

Pastor Jones may be misguided, or he may not. But he has the undeniable right to burn any book he wants any time he wants for any reason he wants or for no reason at all if he wants. There is no right expressed or implied guaranteeing that one's beliefs or books will not be denied or insulted. Jones might have all kinds of beliefs about Islam and the Quran that are factually wrong or bigoted, but it is his right to think whatever he wishes to think about Islam or the Quran, or Christ, or anything or anyone. Lets stop forgetting that! Democracy may be ugly sometimes, Many people's feelings get badly hurt all the time. As Churchill famously said, "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others".

To give in to the threats of murderous fanatics who are willing to murder and riot and call it their religious duty is not only cowardly it is anti-democratic, and actively destructive of the freedoms that have been won for us with the blood and sweat of millions before us. We must not give up our rights. We must, rather, defend them to the death. And there is a way we can do it.

If you too think that our freedoms in this country are worth defending then go buy a copy of the Quran in Arabic. Buy a Bible. Buy scripture of all kinds. Then burn them, Burn them publicly, and put it all on the internet for all to see. Say whatever you have to say, and burn all the lousy holy stinking books and stand up for everyone's rights to believe or not believe as they wish. It is your right as an American. Don't let the appeasers and apologists and crazies take your rights away from you.

Maybe some of you think I'm a terrible person for suggesting this course, but I think it is the right thing to do and I hope some of you agree with me. I'm perfectly serious. It is time to stand up without fear and without guilt, and without shame for the rights of us all. Burn the books that people kill for. Do it now.
