Reader comment on item: Yemen's Descent
in response to reader comment: Precursory Interviews prior to US Military Intervention in Yemen

I wouldn't characterize Dr. Pipes' comments as "hesitant" by any means. He demonstrated , guarded skepticism (which is vintage Daniel Pipes if you follow him), but clearly has a firm grasp on the actors in the region and enumerated them accurately and at length without too much prognosticating. If you wanted more political realism he talks at minute 22 of putting leadership in Yemen "on notice," and "if there are no hostilities we will work with them."

I've been watching Dr. Pipes for some time now. He is a frequent guest on crosstalk and always carries himself with dignity. In my opinion he just prefers to choose his words VERY carefully, and is smart enough and understands the issues well enough to do so. But If you want pomp and ego, he is not the person to follow.
