Creating Concensus and CountriesReader comment on item: Israeli Leftists Plead for Outside Pressure on Their Government Submitted by Jay1 (United States), Aug 7, 2011 at 15:26 Dr Pipes article may be the most important missing piece of the puzzle as to why the Palestinian Israeli conflict isnt over. For how long, one might ask, will this conflict carry on? The answer is contained in Dr Pipes article. I would suggest. Israel hasnt won a peace because Israel spends all its days and hours arguing with itself into defeat. Its like a comical mens club in a schuul. If an entire newspaper in Israel will devote most of its articles on anti Israeli spin, does one not think that foreign affair leaders in foreign countries will not read it ? Does it ever occur to that newspaper that borderline antisemites will conclude from them, that Israel, (and the Jews for that matter) are everythings fault? Are they so comfortable now in the short 65 years since the Holocaust? What exactly is the opinion of these writers from Israel to New York that beat the anti Israeli Tom Tom? That Israel should go back to the 1967 lines? They know the exact "almost" to the 1967 lines? Are they saying most or all things are Israels fault? Do you feel that because Israel has nuclear weapons, whats the worry, Israel can be put in danger? That Jerusalem is to Jewish people as Peoria is to Americans? Are they wanna be Prime Ministers as if Israel needs more crumb Prime Ministers? For those Jewish jounalists included, do their worldly readings and travels note that Israel is 9 miles wide near Tel Aviv? Is Italy and America and Germany and Egypt and Australia and Brazil countries that strike them that would bend over backwards within millimeters to return any of historys territorial claims? Would China? Would Uganda? Would Texas cede lands to Oklahoma? New York State to New Jersey? What have the Palestinians done wrong, and what should be the consequeces of any of their wrongs? And what is to be said of Israels leaders? Is their opinion that I and only I must sign the final agreement? Are they individually the prophets at long last people have been yearning for ? Is that what turns Likud liberal when their in power? Is it that ego comical mens club in a schuul thing? For the jounalists,Jewish liberal in particular, and politicans that cover and decieve out of context Israel, might I offer the following observations. There are almost no Jewish people alive in post Holocaust Europe. The Arab Muslims dont like Israel because Israelis are not Muslim. And.....Jewish people are very very good at many many things.Creating large countries, perhaps the highest order of concensus, is not one of them.
