Taking on the Biggest EvilReader comment on item: Saudi Efforts to Impede Discussion of Women's Rights Submitted by Chad Nagle (United States), Oct 8, 2011 at 12:45 Pipes is the best among the Western commentators on Islamism because he is a deeper thinker than our raft of two-dimensional scaremongers. The well-oiled Saudi money machine has its tentacles deep in American media and society, hence the difficulty in presenting this sort of message in the USA. The Canadians appear to have slightly more backbone than we do in America, hence the video above. While acknowledging the inherent evil of the Iranian regime and its client groups such as Hezbollah, as well as the hatred permeating Palestinian society, Dr. Pipes is also prepared to cite the Saudi regime as an insidious and destructive force in the West. There is too much currying favor with the kingdom, so most of mainstream commentary about political Islam is directed against the Iranian theocracy, Taliban, etc., without any serious attention paid to the Saudi regime as a reactionary Islamist force, and very little mind paid to enemy elements of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan either. Daniel Pipes shows time and again that he is ready to be more inclusive in defining the global ideological war, and should be saluted for that.
