A Hopeful Piece of Geopolitical NewsReader comment on item: South Sudan, Israel's New Ally Submitted by Ron Thompson (United States), Jan 4, 2012 at 17:54 Although I'm appalled that a British (and socialist) government was naive enough to turn over a non-Muslim population to the tender mercies of a Muslim government. condemning them to decades of misery and death, it is a hopeful note that Southern Sudan is forming an alliance with Israel, and it is, as another contributor noted, a significant moral victory in the worldwide struggle against Islamic supremacism. I hadn't heard of Israel's "peripheral strategy", but it makes great sense. Here's another form it could take, at least in advocacy. There should be many voices, including Israel's, calling on western nations to offer sancutary and resettlement to at least some of the beleagured non-Muslim minorities in the Muslim nations of the Middle East, minorities suddenly made more lethally vulnerable by an Arab spring which is leading to even more totalitarian versions of Islam than already existed - i.e. provided an equal number of indigestible and intolerant Muslim immigrants in countries which take in the new refugess are prodded or deported back to their countries of historic origin. I speaking of the mounting crisis in many European nations caused by supremacist Moslem minorities claiming for the imposition of Sharia law not only on themsleves but on the populations of the host countries, a development I'm still amazed has not broken into the world's consciousness yet, certainly not in the United States, where it has received zero news coverage.
