Egypt's dangerous slopeReader comment on item: Middle Eastern Upheavals and Immigration to Israel Submitted by Jon from Euroland (France), Mar 22, 2012 at 06:45 I listened to your remarks on Egypt, and the calorie crisis the huge population is heading into. This really seems the crux of your remarks, because with the possibility of tens of millions of starving neighbours making for the only border where food is available, there will be huge question marks over the maintenance of a semblance of law and order. Strangely I suspect that the rather positive positions taken recently by Israel towards Hamastan/Gaza might be related to this. Perhaps Israel is building Hamastan into a future cushion on the "coast road" which millions may be taking in the not too distant future.... and of course Hamas will defend their turf, and thus Israel's turf with few "human rights" hesitations....
