Tough callReader comment on item: "Better Elected Islamists than Dictators" Submitted by stranchan (Austria), Oct 16, 2012 at 21:25 It is indeed a tough position to be in to have a hand in deciding whether despotic corrupt cruel dictators are preferable to corrupt religious fanatics. I say at least the despots are approachable and do not subscribe to Sharia law and anti-western sentiment. That said, it is not an easy position to rationalize. We all want freedom for these people and human and equal rights, but this is not in the cards for them. The trouble is that neither of the choices moves them forward.
