There Will Be NO Democracy in Heaven - A Second ViewReader comment on item: Superficiality Reigns Before the Election Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Nov 7, 2012 at 18:57 The democratic processes are indeed imperfect, if for no other reason than they are based upon the actions of imperfect humanity. Further, humanity, if left to its own resources, would have devolved into an abyss of depravity were it not for the intervention of the now easily dismissed Divine provenance. Your observations of the America political processes are not new; incredibly, the same accusations are leveled every time the next session of Congress is opened and the bickering points of the last sessions are reopened. And we VOTE (?) for this partisanship? That having been said, it is still, if properly contained within the conditions of proper controls, a better process than most other governmental operation in the global context. But here is a problem: when thinking that this process needs to be exported under the guise of nation building, it fails, doesn't it? This is because America's political situation is unique to America. Unfortunately, this is lost on those who would diminish America's exceptionalism like the current American Administrative Chief and America's image suffers because too few really want it to work anymore. So, while your couple of details, some exaggerated and some not nearly so, seem to define an America so many seem ready to dump upon, for those of us who are benefactors and beneficiaries of prior legacies of a former honorable age look at what we see and feel that those who do not honor those legacies are themselves the losers, not realizing that they are only hurting themselves now, but their futures are limited by their lack of a vision that was the original intention of the founders.
