Scary stuffReader comment on item: Professor [Shahid Alam] Compared Terrorists to Founding Fathers Submitted by Dan Klein (United States), Feb 5, 2005 at 19:49 These professors are in the catbird seat when it comes to influence over young minds. They also can have outrageous and sometimes treasonous points of view and hide behind freedom of speech. I don't agree with O'Reilly that Alam shouldn't be fired. Why not? If he made a racist statement that could get him fired. Freedom of speech should keep him out of prison, but not guarantee his job. The hypocricy of someone who hates this country and then uses the freedoms it offers to show that hate is so maddening. He enjoys all kinds of liberties including a nice salary but doesn't choose to live in a muslim country because they are too repressive and economically stagnant. Oh, I forgot -- that's our fault!Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
