The craziest fatwa of 2012!

Muslims are used to reading about many crazy fatwas that are issued by their sheikhs

And I do believe that the craziest fatwa issued in 2012 was by an Egyptian Sheikh who is also a salafist by the name of عبد المنعم الشحات or Abd el-Men3im el-Shahat and he tells who ever was listening that playing soccer is HARAM! Yes no more soccer and I'm sure the readers are wondering how about the sports that are allowed in Mr el-Shahat's strange world so he had to come up with three sports and they are swimming and horseback riding and الرماية which I would translate as shooting with bows and arrows! Is this really a sport? Sobhanallah!

And to add insult to injury he blames the victims of the soccer riots in Port Said where around 80 young men were killed in a soccer stadium early in 2012 and provides it as evidence that Allah is not really happy about them playing or watching this forbidden sport! So he must have a direct phone line with Allah too! Alhamdulellah

The funny thing is this man Mr. el-Shahat is really obese and he clearly needs to watch what he eats and he has to exercise
