So much for our newspaper of recordReader comment on item: [Defending Lars Hedegaard:] "A Stew of Anti-Muslim Bile and Conspiracy-Laden Forecasts" Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Mar 8, 2013 at 07:12 Thank you Dr. Pipes for a great article. When I first read the article in the NYT I felt it is no more than another typical NYT article where the author reflects what he believes must "feel good" than report about what really happened warts and all and his fatal mistake that the subject of the article should not have been those those "good" Muslims but the victim of this criminal attack and i just dismissed it as an article not even worth publishing. Now in this digital age the NYT is facing the real world and Dr. Andrew Bostom's article is an example of why the NYT must face the real world and start reporting the good the bad and the ugly or it will be a relic of the past I recall watching a youtube video (which i will try and locate) of a NYT reporter in Cairo having a meal with a family whose members belong to el-ikhwan and you can hear the conversation which was very strange because he was putting words in their mouths as in saying that el-ikhwan have great regard for democracy and women are equal and the Copts are equal and all is nice and dandy and a total disconnect from reality and the fuuny thing here many bloggers in Egypt that read the article wrote in their blogs that he was out of his mind. This would not have happened may be even 10 years ago but now with the internet it is an open season on the even revered newspapers like the NYT but again this is how great institutions like the NYT can vanish So what would happen to their grand building on 8th Ave and 43rd St. in NYC? Condos will be a great idea and good riddance Submitting....
