BurqaReader comment on item: Niqabs and Burqas as Impediments to Health Submitted by muzzie (United Kingdom), May 22, 2013 at 03:02 So Burqa is injurious to the health of women. Not for men? Is there any study on men in the Gulf countries that are our closest allies. The men in these countries wear, white burga, called thobe and with checked or white head gear whether inside their air conditioned home or office or whether they are out in the desert. In more westernised countries like Kuwait and Bahrain you can see men in thobe and Kifaya(head gear) walking with their spouses in western mini clothes. The beduins men also cover half of their face with their head gear when out in the desert to protect from the sand. Is there any studies on these men. What are the incidences of rickets and multiple sclerosis in these men. Is there any report on men in thobe getting strangulated in go-carts. Is it simply because the men in the west are only interested in emancipating muslim women from their clothes and they are not interested in the welfare of men. A lot of studies have shown that the asian and african men as well as women and children in northern countries are deficient in Vit.D irrespective of their religious or cultural habits. Any how recent reports in UK shows that the women emancipated from their cloths 200 years back are battered and killed at the rate of 2 a week by their partners. Things may not be much different in other western european countries or US. So they do not get a chance to develop osteoporosis or multiple sclerosis.

And they (as well as the Persian Gulf men) live in a climate with a surfeit of sun. Reader comments (7) on this item
