MERS-CoV and BurqaReader comment on item: Niqabs and Burqas as Impediments to Health Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jul 1, 2013 at 02:22 Dear Dr Pipes: When I see some families on our city streets with women dressed in hijabs, burqas, and niqabs while their male companions dressed confortably in shorts, t-shirts and jeans, I smell a little bit of hypocrisy. But now that you have shown that burqas prevent MERS-CoV, the writing is clearly on the wall and the playing field is finally equal: Saudi men should also wear burqa, niqab and hijabs. No more inequality, no more hypocrisy, no more nothing! Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
