OrwellianReader comment on item: Lessons from the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorist List Submitted by myth (Germany), Jun 27, 2013 at 19:50 "All terrorists are equal, but some terrorists are more equal than others." Is this the rationale that made the FBI take down the first ad? The FBI demonstrates Orwellian principles rewriting the record of past events ( I do my best to avoid the word "reality") as the imagined "Ministry of Truth". I also stumble across the word "global" on the orginal ad. Does "global" add any meaning to the slogan? Maybe Zudhi Jasser got it right and the FBI was actually taking political correctness into account. Perhaps the initial slogan was "Face of global warming" charged with political correctness enough to last a hundred years. Perhaps it was but later that someone who was deeply in touch with the subject matter remembered that terrorism had something to do with it. He or she consequently and courageously put the appropriate, though not the correct, word in. My recommendation is this: spare 5 million of the 25 in order to reward the author of the future third generation ad. I imagine an author, a common man applying common sense using common language to design an understandable ad. Perhaps there are other FBI funds to purchase some of George Orwell's books.
