Reader comment on item: Arabs and Jews in Israel

His wish of a peaceful co-existence between Jew and Arab on the same territory is so strong that he finds facts that are neither true nor realistic. I find that he has been served what he was expecting.

So It is not radicalism but militancy, not resistance but opposition, as if there were a clear line of separation between the two. It is not rejectionism but acceptance which in my opinion is not even the truth meant in earnest. It is not separation but integration; institutional autonomy and not irredentism; this from people who call the establishment of the Jewish State a "nakbah", a catastrophe.

In two words this is wishful thinking. A real divorce, as in between two parties that have never been satisfied in their marriage, is needed, not a continued co-habitation. That would be the best solution.

Palestinian Arabs are fully capable of establishing a system of social services such as health and education by themselves according to their culture in their own state although it is easier to go on living in Israel where the system already exists and functions quite well.

Understandable but not advisable.
